About Crisp Biscuit Comics:

Hello there. I'm overweight cartoonist Robert Wells. I have
been drawing comics, producing illustrations and writing stories on and
off since the early 1990s, and have been hiding behind the name Crisp
Biscuit Comics for most of that time. 'Crisp biscuit' is a seldom heard slang term meaning
'wicked' (in the good sense of the word) or 'cool' or something like
that. An old friend and I were on a train many years ago and
overheard some girls say it, while talking about a boy they obviously
liked ('He's crisp biscuit, guy.'). We found this quite amusing
and it stuck with me.
I am currently busy working on Department of the Peculiar with
Rol
Hirst. Issues one and two are out already and they are pretty good (I think I can
just about get away with saying that without coming across as
big-headed, because I didn't write them). To be kept up to date
with my progress on #3, any other projects I may work on, and for the
occasional one page gag strip, follow my
blog and/or follow me on
Twitter and/or like the
Department of the Peculiar page on
Facebook. |

Crisp Biscuit Comics #2

This is another 20-page, colour collection of short
humour strips, most of which were originally produced for my blog. This includes The
Green C**k Ring's Final Crisis, Rise
of the Planet of the Mice, The
No.1 Rhinos' Detective Agency,
way too many pages of X-Factor-related
material, my shortlisted entry for last year's Observer
/ Comika Graphic Short Story Prize, Halloween
Parade,
and more.

within the UK)

Crisp Biscuit Comics #1

This 20-page, colour comic collects some one-page
humour strips that I produced for my blog. As
well as several episodes of Twenty-Bore,
you will also get to meet Peter
Pentel the Amazing Spider Man, Cheryl
Coal Tit,
and the Green
C**k Ring.
Plus: Amazing
Political fantasy!
The first printing of CBC
#1 was
something that I knocked up on my printer at home last
summer, but this (much nicer) second printing has been
professionally printed on glossy paper and various
mistakes from the first printing have been corrected.

the (never completed) Gig
Guide strip
plus a silent Devil's
Daughter strip
and the third Colin
the Rhino one-pager.

Crisp #1

Published in 1997, this contains the Goodfellas parody
Littlefellas, A
Note on the Forthcoming Apocalypse and
the first Colin
the Rhino one-pager.

Colin Comix #1

The first printing of Colin
Comix #1 was
something that I put together using my printer at home
back in 2004 and it had a black and white interior,
which never looked right as these strips originally
appeared online in colour. However, this new printing
has been professionally printed on glossy paper and is
full-colour throughout. And it all looks rather nice,
even if I do say so myself. This 28-page comic contains
a couple of Colin
the Rhino strips,
the first episode of Twenty-Bore, Who
Is Cecelia Doom? and
several one-page strips of variable quality. It also
contains rather a lot of swearing.

Perfect Weekend, The
Fat F**king Nerds and
the second Colin
the Rhino
one-pager.

Crisp Biscuit #1

Published in 1991, this contains a 20-page strip called She's
Back! by
me, plus a couple of shorter strips by friends of mine.
